ANDREW COMPTON
B.A. (Psych), Assoc. MAPS
Psychologist
Andrew Compton is a registered Psychologist and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. His early career experience included working with adolescent boys at an attendance centre and in employment placement. Then for 20 years he worked in community agencies while maintaining a private generalist counselling practice. During this time he specialised in working with family conflict matters, particularly with men about changing their anger and abuse, as well as with women who are subject to it. For the past 10 years he has continued on as a generalist counselling psychologist in private practice, working with people towards a formulation of their issues that leads to change orientated solutions. He also works with couples in a manner informed by the Gottman approach.
